ATTENTION:  Anyone traveling East on Highway 47 from Altoona may want to allow extra time for travel due to road construction. We recommend taking Highway 39 to 169 South back to 47 as an alternate route.

ATTENTION:  K-47 traveling east out of Girard and west from U.S. 69 will be closed for bridge replacement effective March 5, 2012. Detour signage will be posted. Three bridges on K-47 between Girard and U.S. 69  will be replaced under a Kansas Department of Transportation project awarded to Beachner Construction Company that will take approximately 13 months. Detour signage has been posted. Traffic traveling east on K-47 will turn south off K-7 to K-126; then east on K-126 to US 69. Traffic traveling west on K-47 will be directed to go south on US 69 to K-126; west on K-126 to K-7, then north on K-7 to K-47. 

Another route (if staying at Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express)....go north on 69 Highway to the 2nd stop light.  This road is 160 Highway to the east and 590th Avenue to the west.  Take 590th Avenue west to 7 Highway.  Take 7 Highway north into Girard.
